Chris attended Illinois Wesleyan University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in art. He opened the Chris Guillen Photography studio space in 2006 to establish a foundation for many families’ tradition, as well as to create opportunities for commercial work. Combining the use of analogue techniques with the latest digital techniques is the tradition he’s making for his portrait clients. Chris shoots black & white film on his Hasselblad, then personally processes the film. All family photographs are printed on a beautiful rag fiber-based paper to preserve them for generations. Chris wishes to continue capturing families & children for the remainder of his career. He also wishes to broaden his commercial photography portfolio, and also expand his directing and producing film/video skills, as his storytelling abilities are not limited to photography.
